Class of 1977

Carl "Chuck" S. True, III

DOVER - Carl “Chuck” Sheldrick True, III 58, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass., on Wednesday, July 11th. Born in Dover, Chuck grew up in Lee, with his parents, Carl and Barbara True (Rochester); sisters, Linda True (deceased ‘16) and Margie True (Rollingsford). He is survived by his parents, sister Margie and four children: John True (Brooklyn, NY) Nicole St Pierre (Dover) Matthew Corbin (Dover) and Geoff Corbin  (Napa Valley, CA). Along with his son in-law Steve St Pierre, soon to be daughter in-law Danielle Ives, three grandchildren (Beatrix, Walter and Nolan), girlfriend Sharon Cosme and nieces Tara Graves (Saratoga Springs, NY) and Alexandra Dulac (Rochester).

Chuck raised his children to be open minded, loving, and kind. He taught them to find happiness in the simple things, to be respectful, and to follow their dreams. He always reminded us to say “o.y.b.a.r.” When times were tough. Which stood for “Oh yeah be all right”, this was proudly tattooed on his arm. He worked his entire life as a carpenter, he believed a hard day of work, deserved a hard night of play. He loved playing his guitar, specifically blues, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family.

Chuck will be remembered for his sense of humor, kind heart, and ability to see the best in people.
