Mark Charles Laney

LEE - Mark Laney passed away peacefully early the morning of August 11 in his home with his wife Terri and their loving dog Billie.

Mark was born in Dover, New Hampshire to his Mother, Geraldine, and his father, George. Mark spent his childhood and life in Lee, New Hampshire. Following the birth of his daughter Jillian, Mark was inspired to follow his passion and began his career at Thompson/Center Arms in Rochester, New Hampshire where, after hard work and training, he led research and development. Mark's contributions to firearms design are lasting and noteworthy. Following the mentorship of Warren Center and Ken French, Mark was instrumental in the design of widely used and critically acclaimed firearms including the Encore, Venture, and Icon as well as the Omega and other muzzleloading rifles.

Outside of work, Mark enjoyed all things outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and hiking, and had a true passion for hunting white tailed deer with his wife, Terri. Mark is survived by Terri, his children Jillian and Clifford, his daughter-in-law Emily, and his grandson Arthur as well as his brothers, George and Dave, and sisters, Susan and Rebecca.
